Who could have imagined that Canada would be watching, we were the first to freeze bank accounts of 'undesirables' and we are now trying to pass an internet privacy bill that will allow ISPs to cut your service without notification, justification or any meaningful recourse. Like Jacques Baud, when one ISP cuts service, others will follow 'out of an abundance of caution', it's a slippery slope we are on.
We must understand the difference between a country that has the power to do something and implement it - the keystrokes statement is a matter of fact. You may not like it, it happens to be the case.
That Nazis implemented laws only made them even less popular in Germany than they already were. Hitler was far from popular in Germany - not that you would know this from his ardent supporters in the US or UK who have written the "histories" that distort the facts that took place.
I'm sure there was some sort of quid pro quo / back door deals that went on behind the scenes here with the UK and US govt (itself a controlled entity) and its intel agencies and Apple. This loss of privacy will be expanded across all Western jurisdictions and eventually all jurisdictions.
I've had iPhone's since they were first released in my country. Good quality phones tethered to iCloud. However, these last few years have seen my trust in big Tech completely eroded. It's eventual replacement won't be an iPhone. We will see a big shift away from hyper consumerism anyway because of the diminishing value of these products and that the big societal changes (socially engineered) coming down the pipeline will disconnect the masses from ownership and the psychological attachments and emotions that go along with it. People won't care what phone they have. 'You'll own nothing and be happy'. These products have become utilitarian and good enough will do. You'll see this happen across all tech name brands with many product types disappearing for good. We will be reduced to wearing Mao suits?
I wonder if Apple and corporations like them are aware of this emerging reality of their impending extinction. They are part of the Davos crowd but like the book, 1984, there was the Inner and Outer party. It could be envisaged these gullible CEOs believe they are 'in the know', are excluded from the real strategic aims of the inner party. Foolishly thinking they'll profit by playing their role not knowing they've been end dated. I see this with the airline industry. Dead man walking corporations.
All very dystopian. I'm wondering what the emerging regime will do to manage the masses in this NWO? A digital control grid Panopticon not good enough. What does the system do with people with aspirations, who want to work and want to enjoy the fruits of their labor but due the evaporation of employment cannot fulfil that desire? Or the masses on UBI who will not be able afford the subscription everything model? Govts are a big employment sink but that's going the way of the AI/automation governance. Corporations if not serving the system (as a service) will be rendered obsolete. No-one going to be able to afford their hobbies, toys, consumerism, travel. Virtual existences are hollow and there's very little appetite for virtual lives from the masses This will be a problem for the system. It's all stick no carrot.
The way I see it, the system has sowed the seeds of its own doom.

And? Under the Patriot Act, the US spy agencies have the right to the data on an electronic device.
That means they have the keystrokes on your device BEFORE it is encrypted and sent to another device.
They have the right? I dont think so ;-)
The NAZI's also had implemented laws, did that give them the right to do what they did?

What exactly is turned off?
Encryption on the local data on the phone , email, browser, all of it.
How is that even legal?
Will this also disable encryption on data from gov officials who use apple crap?
Interesting implications...
