As Trump prepared to leave the recent NATO summit in Ankara, his security detail reportedly learned of a credible missile threat against Air Force One as it prepared to depart Turkey. The security team devised an elaborate escape plan: Trump would very publicly board the plane, then secretly slip off and be whisked away in a catering truck.
There was just one troubling detail - the plane would take off with the traveling press corps still on the plane. The administration and security team were unconcerned with the welfare of those left on the plane and willing to use them as human decoys. Of course, it is only the press.
