You are coming to understand that “power and control” of the direction that humanity has taken is, at this point in time, out of the hands of the vast majority of humanity. That agency, has been ripped from the hands of the individuals engaged in the enterprise of survival by a small group of psychotic narcissistic materialists who care nothing for the humanity they see simply as just another commodity, to be used and exploited to further their corrupt and venal goal of total control..

Renad Mansour from Chatham House just uploaded a report on why peacemaking fails. I believe that it is lack of communication. We must think more about creating feedback mechanisms to leaders.

Here is my response to Renad for how to create such better feedback. In the present conflict between Israel and Iran, podcasts like yours will be essential to keep our heads above water, but at the same time, we have to think about how useful information is gathered and moved on.

my note to Renad -

Leaders and their advisors tell each other stories. Each has a hidden agenda with implications that if a leader does not “man up”, they will be seen as weak. This is The Emperor’s New Clothes story told with the “clothes” now being military tools. The way out is not to make people love each other but to use other kinds of power to create meaningful feedback to decision makers.

The conflict in the Congo over mineral rights is an example that crosses borders with other countries and involves both state and non-state actors. When people at the local level work to simply meet their basic needs it is relatively easy to create rumors and riffs between tribes. One way out is to use a process (Discovery Game) that will push other villages, no matter where they are, in a positive direction toward safety and sustainability. The same process can be used to provide feedback and more options to decision makers.

The “gradient” in the Congo is set by promises of riches from natural resources. Other gradients can be created, but they require better communication methods that include Privacy of discussion, Integrity of information, and Efficiency (PIE). This same process can be used to propagate itself in other locations and build something that spans both state and non-state actors.

I can send more information on specific scenarios if you are interested.
